01 Lady of the Wild Cows

Re-enacting my grandmother’s memory as an attempt to embody and preserve her story as she forgets it. As she loses memory and sheds the lifelong roles of self-sacrifice, I grieve the grandmother I knew while witnessing her grow lighter, more childlike, more free. This is for my ngiema: the girl at the creek, the woman who gave everything, and the self she’s finally keeping.
