HARDWOOD FURNITURE

SIBU TABLE
In October 2024 Aria and I designed a Tea table with local Bornean wood. Our design began with a mindset shift of wanting to step away from the fast-paced lives we had gotten used to. We see this table as an attempt to create a space for reflection - with minimal distractions.

The slot was intentionally small so we would only bring small items like notebooks to put away while we drink our tea.

We used joinery to create a nailless piece following Taoist principles of 无为 utilizing gravity and natural order as a way for the table to hold itself instead of forcing the material together.
